Illuminated shelving is a dramatic way to increase visual interest to display areas. The shelves can be constructed with either an illuminated edge or an emissive surface (for illumination of the display items). The color can be static or color-changing. Illuminated shelves mount just like regular shelving and in most cases cost about the same.
